Key responsibilities of the role:

• Interpret and translate client requirements into a practical methodology in order to deliver on the client brief and brief others in the project team on their role in fulfilling the brief
• Responsible for quality of own work and that of the project teams both locally and across OCO’s international office networks
• Recognise delivery issues with commercial implications that must be escalated and proposes strategy for resolution
• Proactively seeks new information sources to progress research and address gaps in knowledge
• Analysis and integrate qualitative and quantitative data to find new insights
• Translates research findings into clear, focused and meaningful reports that meet the client’s requirements
• Responsible for clearly understanding the client needs by asking questions to determine client needs, sharing information and rationale, and summarizing to check understanding.
• Make client objectives the priority, and follow through on client commitments
• Recognises when processes and/or outcomes are negatively impacting a client and proposes an alternative approach or solution based on client priorities
• Ability to source, analyze and interpret data on behalf of our clients and design clear data storytelling presentations

• Communicate clearly and concisely with messages and narrative that meet the needs of a range of audiences
• Persuade and influence key stakeholders, communicating complex information simply and clearly
• Manage workstreams and projects, including project budgets
• Collaborate a team of people to deliver tasks and reprioritise where necessary based on client requirements

Supporting your colleagues by leading, working as part of a global team and being flexible:
• Ability to adjust project plans at short notice in response to changing client requests or challenges
• Responsible for providing workable solutions to solve immediate issues on projects
• Actively support and help colleagues in team, across offices and divisions
• Responsible for achieving shared goals

Requirements:

• Third level degree or equivalent professional qualification in Business Studies, Economics, International Relations or similar .
• 3 years experience in a consulting/research role, preferably in an international business, Trade and/or FDI context. Strong candidates with more general consulting backgrounds are welcomed.
• Proven experience in Project Management
• Proven track record of achieving/exceeding targets
• Report writing experience
• Strong analytical, and problem solving skills, data modelling skills are desirable
• Ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions
• Investigative mind-set and strong research skills with a dedicated interest and knowledge of global political events and the international political economy
• Flexible to new situations and challenges
• Self-starter and motivated
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Excellent networking skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft office programs, particularly Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Willingness to travel
• Right to work in the USA

Desirable criteria:

  • Proficiency in other languages (Spanish, French, German etc)
  • Experience in developing and facilitating workshops with clients
  • Experience of drafting and conducting surveys
  • Experience in developing and positioning location and market entry solutions to leading companies
