Purpose of role 

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Accounting technician will fulfil a key role within a small and expanding finance team based in the company’s Belfast headquarters.

Key Responsibilities 

Responsibilities of the role can be summarised;

  • Updating and reconciling financial ledgers
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management information
  • Verifying company expenses, bank deposits and bank payments
  • Reporting discrepancies, mistakes or potential fraud to senior management
  • Complying with financial laws and regulations alongside in-house policies
  • Researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely fashion
  • Preparation of forward looking information based on sales opportunities
  • Assistance with the annual audit process
  • The main focus of the role will relate to the company’s international operations, and working with local and international teams will be a key feature.

Essential Criteria 

  • Qualified Accounting Technician or similar by experience
  • At least 2 years previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Mathematical skills and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles
  • Ability to work as a part of a team
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with accounting software
