LONDON, 28th June 2013: OCO Global has successfully completed the first in a series of technical assistance and training assignments in Jakarta with the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

OCO Global is working as part of a contract to provide ‘Technical Assistance Services for EU-Indonesia Trade Cooperation Facility (TCF).’ The assignment was led by Daniel Nicholls and Arnaud Delaeter and took place over five weeks between mid-May and mid-June. The focus was on FDI marketing, sector propositions and company targeting and the consultants worked with various teams within BKPM’s Investment Promotion Division to review existing marketing and sector collateral and approaches to market intelligence, monitoring and evaluation.

The assignment culminated in a productive two-day training workshop which was attended by more than 20 staff members from across the division. Daniel Nicholls, who led the training, said: “The enthusiasm and deep sector knowledge shown by the participants was impressive and very encouraging to see. There is a very strong sense that Indonesia’s time has come as an international investment hot-spot, and it’s clear that BKPM is well-positioned to capitalise on the country’s considerable potential. I am hopeful that the training and technical assistance provided will help the teams to enhance the encouraging work they’re doing.” OCO Global is now proceeding to provide ongoing technical assistance and training in other areas to both national and regional teams at BKPM.
