OCO Global is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Spencer Mahony as Executive Vice President, North America. Spencer is based in New York and is responsible for all North American project delivery and related operational matters in addition to setting strategic direction and delivering business growth. Spencer has a wealth of experience in economic development and international business. Prior to joining OCO Global, Spencer held various senior roles over a 14 year period with UK Trade and Investment and the UK’s Department of Business, Innovation and Skills. His most recent role was HM Consul and Director for the Eastern Region of UK Trade and Investment’s US Network where he worked for 5 years. In that role, Spencer had responsibility for the UK’s Trade and Investment teams in Atlanta, Boston, DC, Miami and New York supporting around 200 US FDI expansions to the UK each year. He was also responsible for the UK’s export strategy to the US, where he oversaw an increase in UK business success attributable to UKTI support from $30m a year to $1billion. Spencer has considerable international experience and has also worked for periods in India, China and Japan in addition to the UK. Commenting on the appointment, Mark O’Connell of OCO Global said, “We’re delighted to welcome Spencer to the team. Clearly the US is a very important market for OCO Global and we are building out the North American team under Spencer’s leadership. Our increased capacity will allow us to work with more local EDO’s as well as more effectively service European clients who are naturally focussed and attracted to North America as a major source market for Trade and Investment. Spencer’s experience and leadership skills, knowledge of the US market and senior level relationships with major corporates across the US makes him the ideal candidate to help us scale up our operations and enhance delivery on client projects.” Spencer Mahony commented, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to lead the expansion of OCO Global in North America. My international EDO experience gives me a strong understanding of the challenges of OCO Global’s clients and I am looking forward to developing innovative economic development approaches that harness data driven business intelligence, such as that provided by OCO Global’s Velociti software.”
