There are only two years remaining until the launch of the historical Expo 2020 Dubai. Taking place between October 2020 and April 2021, the event is the first Expo ever to be held in the Middle East, Africa or South Asia.
With around 25 million international visitors expected to attend, it will be a vital economic catalyst within Dubai, and wider UAE, for years to come.
The Expo site itself began life as an empty desert, covers 4.38sqkm and is part of the new Dubai South development, which also houses the Dubai World Central airport. This airport will, over the next 15 years, become the world’s biggest with an annual capacity of 160 million visitors.
The event brings various opportunities for overseas companies to grow their products or services into the UAE market.
Over the course of the next 12 months, the focus will shift from CAPEX to OPEX; the venues are being built, and plans need to be made to manage and operate them. There is also the post-event legacy to be implemented too.
While the Expo’s procurement is handled directly through the local organising bureau, OCO Global is supporting overseas companies who are delivering the project. We are helping them to identify business opportunities in the UAE to provide them with a wider commercial base. Our BCB Incubator is the ideal low-risk market entry platform for starting work with Expo 2020 Dubai, and opening up new opportunities.
The best way for foreign companies to access this exciting opportunity is through an online portal where all interested vendors can register in order to receive notice of relevant tenders to bid for. Go to: https://esource.expo2020dubai.ae/esop/uae-e20-host/public/web/login.jst
