Overview

OCO’s Dubai office currently has an opening for a Minetl Account and Business Development Manager. The successful applicant will work within the OCO Middle East team and the role will focus on increasing sales through identifying new opportunities, winning new projects and managing and maintaining strong relationships with existing Mintel clients.

Key responsibilities of the role:

Under the management of the OCO Middle East Director and with input & direction from the existing OCO / Mintel Ireland team and Mintel head office, this position will:

  • Pro-actively market & sell the Mintel product portfolio in the Middle East
  • Research, identify & approach key prospects and manage the full cycle through to close
  • Work with the existing OCO Middle East team to look for & exploit cross-selling opportunities into existing OCO clients
  • Manage two-way communication with Mintel head office with regards to opportunities in product development and requests from clients
  • Work closely with the Mintel production team to ensure a quality product offering for clients
  • Account manage a portfolio of existing key accounts, identify upgrade opportunities and prospect for New Business Sales.
  • Send Monthly and ad-hoc pro-active Mintel research content to key clients (including reports, innovations and trends)
  • Deliver on-site presentations to clients and new business prospects: includes training sessions, upgrade sessions, new business pitches and as well as research presentations
  • Meet key activity, sales and profitability targets
  • Develop strategic plans for new business & manage the annual budget & business plan cycle within OCO and Mintel, in conjunction with the Regional Director
  • Travel across the Middle East region is essential. Occasional trips to the UK will also be required for induction, training & reporting
  • The role will encompass some Marketing/PR activities
  • Attendance at industry events to expand networks and identify investing companies
  • Developing and maintaining a network of intermediaries and multipliers

Requirements:

  • University degree in business/marketing or equivalent professional qualification in business (other disciplines will be considered where candidates can demonstrate core skills required)
  • At least 4 – 5 years experience in Business Development or sales role, preferably in the consumer / hospitality / FMCG sectors
  • At least 2 years Middle East experience in a comparable role, preferably in the consumer / FMCG / hospitality sectors
  • Demonstrable experience in Account/Client management
  • Proven research experience
  • Evidence of business network within the region
  • Proven track record of achieving/exceeding targets
  • Proven experience of prospecting and winning new business
  • Strong business acumen with commercial focus
  • Strong relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Proven experience of delivering sales presentations to executives
  • Experience of interacting with professionals at all levels and within various functions
  • Experience of developing effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Fluency in English (written & verbal); other regional languages are an advantage
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload under pressure to successful conclusion
  • Willingness to travel
