Purpose of the role

OCO’s US team is seeking an FDI & Trade Junior Project Manager interested in international business and economic development.  Working as part of OCO’s US team based in our New York office the successful candidate will be expected to support the delivery of trade and lead generation projects.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Project management and successful service delivery against targets and timeline in relation to a number of client contracts under supervision of Project Manager / Director
  • Identifying and contacting companies from relevant geographies who are planning cross-border investment (lead generation) to discuss expansion strategies and promote our client’s locations
  • Telephone and face-to-face meetings with US companies to provide specific location solutions and sector propositions to help businesses to decide to invest in client territories
  • Support PM with attendance at industry events to expand networks and identify investing companies
  • Developing and maintaining a network of intermediaries and multiplier
  • Lead on day-to-day client communication and relationship, support PM with accurate and timely reporting to the clients expected standards and input to internal and client CRMs as required
  • Ensure profitability of all projects through smart project execution to reach targets
  • Seek support from analysts to effective delivery of projects
  • Develop up-sell (expand existing business) and cross-sell (diversify services) opportunities with the aim to grow the account
  • Assisting with business development opportunities and contributing to proposals as required
  • Conducting inward investment trends analysis
  • Any other duties as required

Knowledge, skills and experience:

  • Third level degree or equivalent professional qualification in Business, Economics, Geography
    (other disciplines will be considered where candidates can demonstrate core skills required).
  • 2-3 years of experience in economic development and/or international business development
  • Proven experience in Project Management
  • Proven experience in Lead Generation and outreach
  • Proven track record of achieving/exceeding targets
  • Comfortable using the phone with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Confidence and experience in contacting and engaging with senior corporate decision-makers across major international markets
  • Proven results in closing deals and achieving sales or delivery targets
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Strong understanding of international economics, foreign direct investment and trade
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, ability to locate key sources of information
  • Displays initiative in taking greater responsibility without being asked
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to undertake travel on a regular basis
  • Right to live and work in US
